The first method of mindfulness of the body is to disentangle the direct and immediate sensation in the body from our mental processes and reactions to the sensation. We attempt to place the sensation itself in the foreground and fully observe it, while allowing our likes and dislikes, thoughts and fantasies, to be noticed and let go of.
